The State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, yesterday administratively reviewed the request from the electoral entity "Democratic Party-Alliance for a Greater Albania" Coalition, for the immediate interruption of the broadcast of the spot/advertisement of the electoral entity "Socialist Party of Albania".
After hearing the parties' claims, the hearing will continue at the next session after the administration of evidence.
At today's session, the SEC also reviewed 21 violation reports filed by election campaign monitors for the period April 24-28, 2025.
In violation of Article 5, point 1 of Instruction No. 6, dated 23.3.2021 of the SEC, the electoral entities: Coalition "Democratic Party-Alliance for Greater Albania" have opened electoral offices in the municipalities of Dibër, Fier, Kamzë, Këlcyrë, Korçë, Përmet, Pukë and Tirana.
The Opportunity Party has opened election offices in the municipalities of Kukës and Gjirokastër.
The "Euro-Atlantic Coalition" has opened election offices in the municipalities of Gjirokastër, Kamzë and Tirana.
The "Social Democratic Party of Albania" has opened election offices in the municipalities of Tirana and Kamza.
The Commissioner gave the entities 24 hours to close their election offices, while the electoral entities "Partia Mundësia" and "Coalicioni Euroatlantic" were given time to file evidence/documents proving that they are the headquarters of their party branches and not election offices.
Also reviewed was complaint no. 137 ID/2025, where in the Municipality of Durrës, administrative unit of Flakë, propaganda materials of the "PD-ASHM" Coalition were identified, displayed on electric poles, in violation of article 3, point 2 of instruction no. 6, dated 23.3.2021, of the SEC.
The removal of propaganda materials from the aforementioned electric poles was requested.
Also, the report of the Audiovisual Media Authority on the coverage of the election campaign by OSHMAs, for the period 17-23 April 2025, was reviewed.
AMA finds that Bulevard TV and 6+1 TV have broadcast advertisements outside the permitted time slots, while Shijak TV has applied screen splitting during the broadcast in its programs on the electoral process and in one of the splits has continuously placed posters of candidates for MPs.
The Commissioner requested that OSHMA's claims be administered, to continue with decision-making in the next session.
