Accused of defamation by Edmond Sula, GJKKO declares Gazment Bardhi innocent

The Special Court has declared Gazment Bardhi innocent, in connection with a defamation complaint filed by Edmond Sula, the former head of the Shkodra Police.
His lawyer, Marash Logu, in a statement to the media, said that the court referred to the law and evidence, proving that Gazment Bardhi neither defamed nor insulted, but referred to official documents.
"SPAK confirmed in an official letter that all of Bardhi's statements were accurate and true and Bardhi had referred only to the official materials contained in criminal proceedings 9 of 2023. SPAK confirmed that those conversations exist and that the prosecution is conducting in-depth investigations. We regret that the Prosecutor in the case went against Altin Dumani's official position. Fortunately, the court referred to the law and evidence and decided to declare Bardhi innocent, proving that he neither defames nor insults, but refers to official documents," the lawyer said.
In today's session, after the partial reopening of the judicial review, the court administered SPAK's response to the skyecc codes asserted by MP Bardhi.
SPAK has confirmed that the relevant codes belong to the file of a case under investigation, but due to investigative secrecy, it has not made the content of the requested conversations available.
Sulaj sued Bardhi for "defamation" and "insult" due to the latter's statements in a plenary session of the Parliament in September 2024, where he claimed that Sulaj had been appointed by gangs to head the Shkodra police.
