Shakira's mother, Nidia del Carmen Ripol, has recently said that she considers Pique part of their family.

The Colombian star's mother made statements when reporters saw her outside the hospital where her husband and Shakira's father are being treated. She said that Gerard Pique visited her in the hospital and even called her several times to check on the health of Shakira's father, William Mebarak.

"Of course we are still family," said Nidia del Carmen Ripol about the footballer, ignoring the scandals and his infidelity towards his daughter.
