The National Folklore Festival starts today! Gjirokastra for a week the 'capital' of culture

The National Folklore Festival, which will last a week, starts today in Gjirokastër. It was Prime Minister Edi Rama himself, who shared a video from the stage where 1200 artists are expected to perform, not only from Albania.
In the published images, apparently, this year it has been chosen to 'play' with light summer colors.
"The embroidered stage is ready to welcome the 1,200 artists of the National Folk Festival that starts today in Gjirokastër. FREE ENTRY on all days of the festival," writes Rama.
We remind you that the first edition of this festival "Table of Albanian Heritage" was opened on October 11, 1968 in the museum city of Gjirokastra, being considered at that time as a unique festival in the preservation, protection and popularization of the spiritual cultural heritage in Albania.
Gjirokastra will be the capital of Albanian culture for one week, while the performances of more than 1200 artists will be held not only in the castle but also in different areas of the city.
