"Senseless from the AFL"/ The penalty for closing the stadium, the Tirana club reacts
A day after the Disciplinary Commission decided to punish Tirana with playing matches without fans until the end of the season, the blue and white club has come out with an official reaction, through which it announced that it would appeal the decision.
The Whites and Blues insist that the punishment was very harsh and collective, describing as an individual mistake of its fans that of throwing fireworks in the match against Vllaznia, which led to the injury of the footballers of the Shkodran club.
The most titled club in the country has asked the Federation to review the decision on the club while distancing itself from acts of violence.
The Tirana Football Club, through this reaction, seeks to clarify the public opinion after it became aware of the decision of the Disciplinary Commission yesterday, which punishes the club and all football fans for the rest of the season, after the incident that occurred in match KF TIRANA- FK VLLAZNIA, that the club is appealing this decision.
Nonsensical for the AFL to punish an entire city for an incident discovered by the state police and the competent authorities immediately after the end of the match.
Tirana football club has always distanced itself from acts of violence and from any behavior or event that violates fair play. This resistance to inappropriate behavior is reflected by the measures taken by the club which are always rigorous for the normal running of a football match. The episode that happened was located and clarified immediately by the contracted security company, and then by the police authorities, which issued an official statement on its part.
Such reprehensible events by certain individuals can happen in any possible match, including those of International matches, but we do not consider it fair to punish a wide community represented by thousands of citizens, depriving them of the entire season to closely followed their team.
We believe that this act, which is neither the first nor the last nor the heaviest in our stadiums, cannot penalize an entire city.
An irresponsible action as a result of a thoughtless individual gesture cannot dismiss hundreds and thousands of citizens of Tirana and beyond, who give life to Albanian stadiums every week.
How can a capsule reject all the work done by our club for years to bring girls and boys of every age to the stadium?!
We ask the AFL to rethink its stance out of respect for the thousands of dedicated fans who deserve to be close to the team they dedicate a part of their lives to. These fans are not represented by a hasty action and 1 capsule. They are the public that keeps our sport alive. They are the public who dream of marveling hundreds of children and young people who are training to become football players. They are the ones who fill the stadium and the squares every time the national team plays.
We will continue to raise our voice, as we believe that sport has been neglected over the years, and as a public good, everyone should turn their eyes to sport, not turn them away.
We expect a positive reaction from the Federation as soon as possible for a reflection on this decision, which directly affects the quality of the future of sports in Albania.
We have always been silent in front of the facts that have managed to provoke our club's fans to the limit, a fan that has been an example of citizenship in support of the heart team throughout the history of our club; this is because we have always chosen the general good of the development of sports in the country. We as a club have always understood that football is played for the fans and we have never wanted to deprive any fan to live every day with their respective team.
KF Tirana works like a family with its community and never forgets that the actions of the club weigh in thousands of hearts that fill the stadium steps. We cannot allow the spirit with which the fans scream every year to be stolen and ignored, but we must give meaning to their voice and understand, listen and welcome them, without being indifferent.
