Luis Enrique in the final of his life! A promise to the daughter who lost the battle with cancer

Luis Enrique, the coach of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), has expressed his desire to repeat a memorable moment from the 2015 Champions League final, when he won with Barcelona against Juventus in Berlin.

In that match, his daughter, Xana, who was only 6 years old, held the Barcelona flag and placed it on the pitch during the celebrations. This moment remained engraved in the memory of the fans and the Spanish coach.

In 2019, Xana lost her battle with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer, at the age of 9. After her loss, Luis Enrique has often expressed that she continues to be present in his life spiritually.

He said: "For me, she is not dead, but she is always with us. We talk about her every day and I think Xana is still watching us from somewhere."

The 2025 Champions League final, to be played on May 31 in Munich against Inter, has a special meaning for Luis Enrique. He wants to pay tribute to his daughter by raising the PSG flag on the pitch, as he did previously with Barcelona.

In a recent interview, he expressed his desire to repeat that unforgettable moment, saying: "I would like to do the same with PSG. My daughter will not be there physically, but she will be there spiritually."

PSG have reached the Champions League final after a 2-1 victory over Arsenal in the semi-finals, securing a 3-1 aggregate result. This is the second time PSG have reached the final of this competition, after 2020.

In the final on May 31, PSG will face Inter, who advanced to the final after a dramatic 4-3 victory against Barcelona.

For Luis Enrique, this moment is an opportunity to honor the memory of his daughter and to realize an old dream of his. He hopes that this tribute will be a symbol of love and eternal memory for Xana.
