From the World Cup final to the Final Four, who is the referee who apologized to Bayern for the mistake with Real?

Shimon Marçiniak has been invited by the Albanian Football Association (AFSH) to officiate the grand finale of the Final Four. President Armand Duka himself revealed the selected name.

Marciniak is one of FIFA's best referees. The 44-year-old Pole has been wearing it for 14 years, and has been refereeing since 2022.

The Pole has refereed several important finals in his career. The most important of them was the World Cup final between France and Argentina. In December 2022, Argentina was crowned world champions after a penalty shootout.

Marciniak became part of the controversy a year ago. A whistle during the Bayern-Real challenge was disputed. After the match, an apology was issued for the decision made on the pitch.

It is also remembered for the Champions League final where City won their first trophy in history. It was against Inter in 2023.
