Lucescu's health condition worsens, former Romanian Inter coach ends up in a coma

Mircea Lucescu's health condition deteriorated overnight.
The former coach of the Romanian national team, 80 years old, is hospitalized in the intensive care unit at the University Hospital of Bucharest, where he has been placed in a pharmacological coma.
Two days ago, a few hours before leaving the hospital after a health problem that occurred on Sunday during a technical meeting before training, Lucescu suffered a heart attack. Three resuscitation procedures were performed to save the life of the coach, who in the 90s managed several Italian clubs such as Inter and Brescia.
According to reports, Lucescu suffered a second heart attack, but was revived thanks to medical intervention. Despite his condition, he chose to be on the bench for the World Cup play-off semi-final, lost to Turkey. The failure to qualify for the World Cup also cost him his job.
Meanwhile, the Romanian Football Federation has reacted with a touching message on Facebook: "There are moments in football when the result no longer matters and the only victory we fight for is that of life. Today is one of those moments and our thoughts go to the man who has shaped destinies, built generations and placed Romania on the big map of world football. We are one team, one heart and this heart beats for you today! We want to transmit to you all the energy and strength you need. Keep fighting!"
