The murder of electrical engineer Rigels Kaso in Tirana, for the capital's prosecutor's office, is not "intentional murder" but "negligent homicide."
This conclusion was reached by the prosecutor in the case, who, after 1 and a half years of investigations in file No. 4546, concluded that the 42-year-old from Bilishti was killed by negligence and not intentionally.
The defendant for this serious incident is the 36-year-old from Dibra, Bajram Gjeleshi, who has been wanted by the Tirana police and prosecution since July 2024, but has not been able to be arrested until this stage of the investigation.
Gjeleshi has been able to evade justice, having not been arrested to date.
Meanwhile, after 1 and a half years since the crime occurred, the Tirana prosecution has decided to take the wanted person Bajram Gjeleshi as a defendant, charging the latter with "Murder by Negligence" and not "Murder by Intention" as referred to by the Tirana Police.
The case is currently in the preliminary hearing phase and the draw has selected the judge, Vjollca Spahiu, to adjudicate the prosecutor's request for the file.
According to the investigations conducted, it is suspected that the motive for the conflict between Bajram Gjeleshi and Rigels Kaso was the latter's harassment of a girl on the social network "Instagram".
There were several messages that electrical engineer Rigels Kaso had sent to Bajram Gjeleshi's cohabitant on social media.
After reading these messages, Gjeleshi, from his cohabitant's profile, invited the 42-year-old from Bilishti to meet near the building where he lived on "Sokrat Miho" Street.
Rigels Kaso, thinking he would meet the woman he was talking to on social media, went to the given address where he was confronted by her cohabitant, Bajram Gjeleshi, who raped her with punches and hard objects.
The whole incident happened shortly after midnight on July 15, 2024, and Rigels Kaso was found by passersby in the morning who notified the ambulance and the Tirana police.
The 42-year-old was immediately admitted to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, but after several days, he was unable to provide any explanation to the Tirana Police regarding the motives and circumstances of the crime.
Due to his injuries, Rigels Kaso died in hospital. Meanwhile, the man who committed his murder was unable to be arrested by the State Police, even though there is a security measure against him of "Arrest in prison" in absentia.
