US President Donald Trump, whose call for help from allies to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for oil traffic has been largely rejected, said in a social media post on Tuesday that US forces "no longer need" military assistance in the Iran war.
"Due to the fact that we have had such military success, we no longer 'need', or want, help from NATO countries - NEVER HAVE! Likewise, Japan, Australia or South Korea," Trump posted on his social network "Truth," adding: "WE DON'T NEED ANYONE'S HELP!"
On Monday, Trump warned that NATO faces a "very bad future" if allies do not respond to his call to create an international maritime police force to keep the Strait of Hormuz open.
