The immigrants returned to Italy, the Italian Interior Minister: We will appeal the Court's decision

Italy's Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi vowed on Friday to continue with Italian migrant processing centers in Albania, despite a Rome court decision to return migrants to Italy.
According to the minister, the scheme will meet European expectations and will become a model for the European Union.
" Not only will we move forward with legal complaints, but we will also move forward with these initiatives because from 2026 what Italy is doing in Albania and not only will become a European law ," he said.
Recall that a court in Rome on Friday ordered the return to Italy of the small group of migrants who were sent to the reception camps set up by the Italian government in Albania, thus dealing a strong blow to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's plans to send out asylum seekers to the country.
The migration section of the Rome Court ruled invalid the detention in the Gjadri camp of 10 Bangladeshi nationals and 6 others from Egypt, two countries considered unsafe, by a decision of the European Court of Justice two weeks ago.
