Albanian Kelmend M. appeared before the Darmstadt Regional Court in Germany on Thursday, accused of murdering his compatriot. According to German media, it was a power struggle in the drug scene. According to the indictment, the 41-year-old ambushed his victim in front of a cafe and shot him. The execution was also carried out on an open street, in broad daylight in central Germany.
According to the indictment, the crime of April 22, 2024 involved a power struggle in the local drug scene, cocaine, jealousy, two beautiful women and an earlobe. Foreign media also write that the trafficker Arben G., 45, nicknamed Beni, had cut off his earlobe to humiliate him.
"The defendant thought this was a considerable degradation of his person. He felt that his honor had been violated. The victim had to die to restore his honor and status," said Prosecutor Elena Beyer.
Surveillance cameras show Ben leaving the bar at 8:52 a.m., followed by a masked man wearing rubber gloves, a Lidl bag and a gun, before he shoots. A bar's camera also shows the victim walking a few feet and falling.
“Yes, I was the one who shot ,” Kelmend M. confessed in court. He fired five or six times, but it is suspected that he did not want to kill his fellow countryman. He had probably hidden the gun in advance in a shopping bag and used it to insert the empty shells.
After the murder, the perpetrator returned to his apartment, threw away his gloves and then allegedly threw the gun into the river. He has reportedly fled Germany. The killer was arrested a few weeks later in Sweden and now faces life in prison.
