INSTAT/ Accidents in February increased by 14.3%, the most problematic drivers in the 35-44 age group

After many months of decline, accidents in February this year have marked a negative turn, increasing compared to the same month a year ago.

Official data shows that in February 2023 there were 88 road accidents out of 77 that occurred in February 2022. The number of road accidents has increased by 14.3%.

According to the Institute of Statistics, the number of accident victims (killed and injured) is 123 people out of 100 in February 2022.

Another element that stands out is the increase in the carelessness of drivers in the age group of 35-44 years old, who compared to the previous year have increased by 11.1 percent as the cause of accidents due to their behavior at the wheel.

"Road accidents, in 81.8% of cases, occurred as a result of the driver's behavior. The highest number of accidents in this period was committed by the 35-44 age group, accounting for 22.7% of the total number of accidents. Accidents in this age group have increased by 11.1%, compared to the same period a year ago", the publication states.

In the month of February 2023, the highest number of road accidents occurred on Mondays and Thursdays, while the lowest number of accidents occurred on Wednesdays.

INSTAT raportoi se në dymujorin e parë të vitit 2023, numërohen 172 aksidente rrugore nga 184 aksidente, të ndodhura në të njëjtën periudhë të një viti më parë.

Numri i aksidenteve rrugore është ulur me 6,5%. Numri i të aksidentuarve është 242 persona nga 247 persona të aksidentuar në dymujorin e parë të vitit 2022.

Aksidentet rrugore, në 19,2% të rasteve, në dymujorin e parë të vitit 2023 kanë ndodhur si pasojë e sjelljes së këmbësorit. Numri i aksidenteve sipas sjelljes së këmbësorit është rritur me 13,8%.
