KLP appoints the head of the Durrës Prosecutor's Office, the next
In today's meeting, the KLP appointed the head of the Durrës Prosecutor's Office, Suela Beluli, for a 3-month term, although she received the trust of 4 members as well as the other candidate, Edmond Koloshi. But the latter failed to take the direction of the Durrës Prosecutor's Office, as the chairperson of the KLP voted for Beluli, whose vote prevailed.

KLP also approved the two new SPAK prosecutors, Anita Jella and Bledar Maksuti, while rejecting the candidacy of Ndini Tavani, a procedure that has been opposed by the Prosecutor of Tirana, as anti-Constitutional and anti-legal.

The High Prosecution Council held today the next plenary session in the presence of 8 (eight) members, representatives from the Ministry of Justice, the OPDAT mission, the EU4 JUSTICE mission, in the absence of members Olger Eminaj and Erind Merkuri.

The Council decided to add two more issues to the agenda for decision-making:

the beginning of the procedures for filling a vacant position as an internal lecturer in the School of Magistracy through the procedure of command from the ranks of
prosecutors

the temporary appointment of the head of the Prosecution at the Court of General Jurisdiction Durrës, and the beginning of the procedures for the selection of the vice-chairman of the High Council of Prosecution for discussion.

With the proposal of the KLP Special Commission, the Council unanimously approved the first 3 items of the agenda, through which
2 more prosecutors are added to the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime.

Respectively, the Council decided to:

The appointment of Mrs. Anita Jella as a prosecutor in the Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime.

The non-appointment of Mr. Ndini Tavani on duty as a prosecutor in the Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime.

The appointment of Bledar Maksuti as a prosecutor in the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime.

Subsequently, the Council unanimously decided to suspend prosecutor Aurel Zarka from office.

Then, the Council continued with the discussions related to the items added to the agenda.

Based on the proposal brought by the Career Development Commission, the Council decided by a unanimous vote to announce the beginning of the candidacy procedure to fill a vacant position as an internal lecturer at the School of Magistracy, through the procedure of commanding a prosecutor, for a term up to 5 (five) years.

Following the evaluation of the candidacies proposed by the Career Development Commission, for the temporary appointment of the head of the Prosecutor's Office at the Durrës Court of General Jurisdiction, it was found that the candidates who met the conditions for this position were Mr. Edmond Koloshi and Mrs. Suela Beluli.

After voting, both candidates received 4 votes each. In the conditions where the vote of the head of the High Council of Prosecution prevails, it resulted that Mrs. Suela Beluli to be temporarily appointed as the head of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of General Jurisdiction in Durrës, for a period of 3 months.

At the end of the meeting, Mrs. Riza asked the non-prosecutor members to express their interest to continue with the procedure of selecting the Vice-Chairman of the Council, in the nearest session.
