British media: Lulzim Berisha, Europe's most wanted man, was found hiding

The British newspaper Express wrote about the arrest of Lulzim Berisha, saying that the most wanted Albanian in Europe was caught hiding among British tourists in Spain.

"Police in Spain have arrested Lulzim Berisha, 52 years old, a suspected Albanian mobster, who was on the run for almost two years.

Berisha, described as one of Albania's "Most Wanted", is said to have been the organizer of a criminal gang responsible for many murders dating back to 1998," the newspaper writes.

Berisha's criminal career began in the 90s, while his gang had a very large influence in the Durrës region, becoming the main exporter of cocaine and weapons in Albania.

Despite being sentenced to 25 years in prison, he managed to escape Albanian justice and escape from the country.

He was living in Alicante under a new identity and a fake passport. There they called him by the nickname 'Durrësi'.

A court in Madrid will decide on his extradition, which he strongly opposes.
