Bad weather, sailings on the Durrës-Bari lines are suspended on Sunday

Due to deteriorating weather conditions in the coming hours, the Durrës Port Authority has announced that ferry sailings from Durrës to Bari (Italy) and vice versa will be suspended.

Ferry sailings on the Durrës-Bari and Bari-Durrës lines will be suspended on Sunday, January 12, due to the worsening weather conditions predicted for tomorrow.

The captain's office announces that the sailings of two ferries from Durrës and two ferries from Bari have been suspended. Meanwhile, sailings on the Ancona-Durrës line and vice versa will continue normally.

"Departures and arrivals for the Durrës-Bari and Bari-Durrës lines, dated 12.01.2024, have been canceled due to the strong wind in the North-East direction and force 8 in the Southern Adriatic. The sailings for the Ancona-Durrës line for the same date will operate as usual", announces the Captaincy.

Notice on the Hydrometeorological Situation in the Bay of Vlora and the Necessary Measures

Based on the forecast for the deteriorating hydrometeorological situation inside and outside the bay of Vlora, during 12.01.2025, starting from 22:00 on 11.01.2025, the hydrometeorological conditions will be in the direction SOUTH-SOUTH-WEST, with the force of wind up to 6-7 bft and wind speed up to 15-20 m/s, as well as wave height of 1.50 to 2.00 meters.

In order to prevent any unexpected situation that may be caused by atmospheric conditions, we request the cooperation of all entities that exercise activity in the maritime field, to take all the necessary measures to secure the means in the port and increase the readiness of the crew in vessels.

It is prohibited to equip small boats and fishing vessels that operate in the open sea with a launch permit, starting from 22:00 on 11.01.2025.

International shipping vessels will continue to operate normally, according to the respective destinations. The improvement of the hydrometeorological situation for small boats and fishing vessels is expected after 20:00 on 12.01.2025.
