Luftar Reç's confrontation with Shullaz/SPAK: The witness is endangered, the defendants' lawyers clash

The Special Court, GJKKO, has decided to conduct behind closed doors the process against Emiljano Shullazi, Indri Rusi, Indri Taullai, Lulzim Berisha, Plarent Dervishaj, Viktor Imeraj, who will face Luftar Recci, the latter will be questioned in the capacity of a witness.
The defendants are accused of murdering Klodian Saliu and Vajdin Lamaj. Journalist Klodiana Lala reports for BalkanWeb that SPAK, while arguing the decision to hold the trial behind closed doors, emphasized that the safety of the witness and other witnesses in the process is being compromised.
Meanwhile, Plarent Dervishaj's lawyer said that there is no reason to conduct a closed process.
"There is no reason to conduct a closed process. There is no secret information, as Reçi's testimony is false", said the lawyer. The opposite was the argument of Shullzi's lawyer, who was in favor of the decision of GJKKO. "The process behind closed doors. Enough with the publicity!" said Shullazi's legal representative.
Earlier, Luftar Reci opposed the live confrontation with Shullazi and other members of his gang. Reçi himself, through a letter from prison, has asked the court to testify via "Skype".
He also emphasized that sending him to court could be dangerous, as in his testimony he said: "My coming to court is like sending a lamb among wolves"
"I no longer have the opportunity or power to appear in court. I came 5 times and the trial was postponed. I have appeared out of respect for justice. I have been sick for years with diabetes and other health problems. I want to testify by skype. If the lawyers have doubts, they should be present with me and 2-3 journalists. I have health and safety reasons round trip. My coming to the court is like sending a lamb among wolves", Reçi's statement said.
