In Tirana, Marjeta Hoxha, an employee of Tirana Water and Sewerage for 5 years, in the position of maneuverer/chlorinator, denounces her dismissal as unfair.
She says she was punished with three disciplinary measures, which according to her, do not stand: one for changing the depot's opening hours, another for failing to follow an order, which was not related to her duty, and the third for failing to follow an order, which required her to stay at the depot for 6 hours, which is not part of the shunters' shifts.
"I started working in 2021 at UKT as a maneuverer/chlorinator, where I had to maneuver the depot and chlorinate the water. I was very correct with my work. I had only one work plan for both depots. At 7:00 I would open the Hoxha depot and close it at 11:00, I would open the Botllakëve depot at 8:00 and close it at 10:00. After five years, they fired me, they imposed a disciplinary measure on me as if I had changed the opening hours of the depots with my own mind, but it is not true, I opened it by order of the person in charge. I took the second measure for not implementing orders, I respond to every order as a maneuverer/chlorinator, but it was a different process to make the defect.
The third disciplinary measure was imposed on me, because they imposed a condition that I have to stay with a warehouse for six hours and told me that if you don't respond you will be fired, they didn't give me any other condition. I gave the keys to the warehouse to the person in charge and told him to take measures for this warehouse and for the Hoxha warehouse I will be responsible according to the regulations. They didn't bring me the new work plan, but they fired me. They brought me the dismissal notice on October 30. I demand my rights, my husband is disabled and unemployed and with that salary I support my family, I also have two minor children and I want my job", the complainant said to the microphone of "Stop".
To prove her claims, Marjeta calls the employee who had given the order to change the warehouse's hours. He admits that he gave the order himself, and even adds that the situation has been known for months.
"I brought it to you, didn't I? I brought it to you, which has nothing to do with that schedule. Now, you left the keys there, to my knowledge. It's 8 months old. I told you about that. Well, you took the first step. I told you that for that reason, I did it. That's why Eraldi left it, he didn't take any action," says the employee.
The footage shows that the warehouse is closed at various times and that the obligation to stay there for 6 hours was a special order only for Marjeta. Lawyer Vullnet Cullhaj defends the institution's version.
According to him, Marjeta did not implement the work orders, but admits that there is no 6-hour shift for shunters. However, the official company document refutes his claim, as the 6-hour stay order was issued specifically for Marjeta Hoxha.
Vullnet Cullhaj: For the case in question that came from the head of the sector. He did not accept the work order to go to the warehouse at the specified time. He also broke it and there is a disciplinary measure for a repeated case and this measure was taken for the case. There is an ethical violation as with the director in the specific case, he came to the director and in the debate he said that I do not take orders from you and I do not do the work.
