Iran denies attack on Abu Dhabi: We had no intention of hitting the Emirates

Iran has denied it had any intention of striking the United Arab Emirates, following reports of an attack with four cruise missiles and a drone, which was considered by Abu Dhabi as a "dangerous escalation" of tensions in the region.

This statement comes at a sensitive moment, following reports of an American operation to guarantee free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

"We had no intention of hitting the United Arab Emirates," a senior Iranian official said, according to the country's state television, adding that their actions should not be interpreted as a provocation towards the region.
