Instagram will no longer be free

Instagram is testing a new paid package called Instagram Plus, which brings a number of advanced features that have not been part of the application until now.
This subscription is intended for ordinary users and not for businesses or content creators, marking a new step towards monetizing the platform. According to information, Instagram Plus will include an “invisible mode”, which allows viewing stories without appearing as a viewer, as well as a function that shows who has viewed and re-viewed your stories and how many times.
Another important change is the extension of the duration of stories from 24 to 48 hours. Users will also have the option to promote one story per week to the top of the feed.
The package also includes unlimited “Close Friends” lists, search for story viewers by name, and the ability to preview stories without registering as a viewer. In addition, new reactions such as “Super Heart” are also expected.
The subscription price is expected to range from $1 to $3 per month, although there is no official confirmation from the company yet. Instagram Plus is expected to be available only for personal accounts.
Meta gives users the ability to edit Instagram comments they leave on posts, but only within 15 minutes of posting. This is similar to how the social media app handles editing messages, an option that was introduced in 2024, 11 years after Instagram's direct messaging was enabled (in 2013).
Users can now edit only the comments they have left from their account, and the process is simple. Simply tap the “Edit” button below their comment to open a text box where they can change, rewrite, or edit what has been written, and then tap the blue “tick” sign to save the changes.
