"Veliaj" case divided into two parts, summary trial accepted for 7

The Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime has decided to divide the "Veliaj" case into two parts, after accepting the request of the seven defendants for a summary trial.

Among the defendants who will be tried in a summary procedure are businessmen Elman Abule , of "Rametal" shpk, Fatmir Bektashi of "Kontakt" shpk, and Mirton Lika of "Lani" shpk.

The list also includes Frosina Bollo, representative of the NGO "Frobolous", Adela Kondakçiu , Fatjon Baci and former socialist MP Klotilda Bushka.

The court's decision means that the process for these people will proceed more quickly, based primarily on evidence collected by the Special Prosecution Office, without going through a full trial.

The hearing for them is scheduled for May 20, the date when SPAK's conclusions are expected to be issued.

Meanwhile, the file directly related to Veliaj will be redrawn, separated from the portion of the defendants who have requested a summary trial.
