Inter favoritism scandal: court request to suspend Serie A and prevent awarding

The scandal that has erupted in Italy with the Prosecutor's Office's investigation into designer Gianluca Roki, who favored Inter, has set in motion individuals and associations that are demanding that the incident be clarified and measures be taken against those responsible.

Renowned Italian lawyer Angelo Pizani, with a mandate from the founders of "Social Club Maradona", subscribing fans and people who have paid for the Pay TV and DAZN platforms, as well as injured bettors, is preparing an official request to be filed with the Prosecutor's Office of Rome and then Naples and Milan, to request the immediate suspension of the Serie A championship and the blocking of the awarding of the championship title in the current edition.

"The complaint, filed in the interest of fans, consumers and bettors, is based on clear and serious legal foundations:

* The appellants are fans, television subscribers and bettors who have invested in the fairness of the championship;

* Fair competition is an essential prerequisite for contracts (pay TV and betting);

* Investigations by the Milan Prosecutor's Office have uncovered serious evidence of manipulation of refereeing decisions, potentially to the advantage of a team on the verge of winning the title.

* The imminent granting of the title risks occurring in a seriously compromised context, with damage to:

* fans' rights for sports justice;

* consumer rights;

* the economic interests of bettors", it is written in the request that will be filed with the court, requesting the immediate ban on the championship.

"Football is not a game if the rules are manipulated. If the suspicion is well-founded and the investigations are based on clear evidence, the championship must be stopped. Immediately," the Italian lawyer's complaint reads.
