Knife attack at school in Finland, three injured, perpetrator arrested

Three students were injured today in a knife attack at a school in Pirkkala, southwestern Finland, and the suspect, a student at the educational institution, was arrested, police announced today.
"The three injured do not have life-threatening injuries ," police spokeswoman Nina Yuurako told AFP, adding that police were investigating media reports that the student was suspected of targeting the girls in the attack.

"Emergency crews have arrived at the scene," police said on their website.
The suspect reportedly sent a "manifesto" to Finnish media this morning. In it, he allegedly stated that he planned to stab the girls and then surrender to the police.
He also allegedly wrote that he had been planning the attack for six months, according to local media.
