Serious accident in Greece/ Truck crashes into three vehicles, two dead and two injured

A serious accident with tragic consequences has occurred in Greece, on the Egnatia highway in the segment between North and Kazancsa. According to Greek media, the incident was recorded in the Polimero area, where a truck traveling towards Igoumenitsa initially collided with the toll booth, due to low visibility due to dense fog.

After the initial collision, the truck was involved in a chain accident with two other vehicles. One of the cars caught fire immediately after the powerful collision, causing the deaths of two people, whose identities have not yet been made public by Greek authorities.

Two other people were injured and were urgently transported to the nearest hospital, while numerous police and fire forces are at the scene, who have intervened to extinguish the flames and make it possible to open the road.

The truck that caused the accident was driven by a Ukrainian citizen, and authorities have launched investigations to clarify the full circumstances of the incident and determine responsibility.

The event has shocked public opinion in Greece, while traffic on this segment remains disrupted for several hours due to the cleanup operation and investigations at the accident site.
