We are saddened to share with you the news that the body of 23-year-old German-Israeli Shani Luk has been found and identified.
Shani, who was kidnapped from a music festival and tortured around Gaza by Hamas terrorists, experienced unimaginable horrors.
Hamas terrorists were filmed carrying the hapless girl naked and with broken legs in a farm car after the attack on a music festival on October 7. At the time the young woman was identified by her tattoos, while initial reports said she had died with terrorists and the mob desecrating her corpse.
Her mother, Ricarda Luke, had recognized her in one of the videos, but she was hopeful, telling international media that she had information that her daughter was seriously injured and was in a hospital in the Gaza Strip.
Sunny Luke, who had German-Israeli citizenship, often visited her grandparents in Ravensburg in the state of Baden-Württemberg.
Her mother, a Catholic who converted to Judaism, immigrated to Israel, following her Jewish husband.
She was one of the 8 German hostages
The German-Israeli tattoo artist was a victim of Sunni Palestinian terrorists in the massacre at the 'Re'im' music festival on October 7.
As the German newspaper "Bild" reports, Sunny Luke is considered one of the eight German citizens who were captured during the war, according to the German authorities. Luka was at the festival, accompanied by her boyfriend, a Mexican citizen.
After the alarm went off and the Hamas attack began, Luka spoke to her mother on the phone, telling her that there were few places to hide and that she would try to find one. Then she disappeared.
