France bans social media for children under 15, Macron: There will be no phones in schools

The example of Australia, which has banned access to social networks for children under the age of 16, seems to be expected to be followed by France. The news was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron himself.
In a video he released, Macron declares that starting from the beginning of the next school year, the use of mobile phones in schools will be banned, as well as the use of social networks for children under the age of 15.
"The brains of our children and adolescents are not for sale. Their emotions are not for sale and must not be manipulated, whether by American platforms or Chinese algorithms," Macron says in his video.
The French president further calls for the acceleration of legal procedures, following the worrying data of a report by the French health authority. According to the report:
One in two teenagers spends two to five hours a day on their mobile phones
About 90% of children aged 12–17 have access to the internet via mobile phones
58% of them use their devices primarily for social networking
The use of social networks is associated with many harmful consequences for children's mental health and development.
