Trump-Netanyahu rift? US Defense Secretary cancels trip to Israel

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has canceled his trip to Israel scheduled for next week.

Ynet reported that Hegseth canceled the visit so that he could accompany President Donald Trump on his visit to the region (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates), which will not include Israel.

Earlier this week, other media outlet Axios reported, citing two Israeli officials, that the US Secretary of Defense was scheduled to arrive in Israel on Monday to meet with his Israeli counterpart, Israel Katz, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

On Tuesday, President Trump announced that the Houthis had informed him that they would no longer attack American ships and, therefore, the US would cease attacks on them.

Reuters, highlighted that the United States has withdrawn its demand that Saudi Arabia normalize relations with Israel as a condition for promoting cooperation in the field of political nuclear energy.
