Powerful explosions have been recorded in Dubai, putting the city on high alert amid heightened tensions in the Middle East. According to eyewitnesses, four to five explosions have been heard within the last 15-20 minutes.

Foreign media reports that a layer of ash and flames could be seen in the Palm Island neighborhood near the city's Burj Khalifa tower. A witness, who was near the famous FIVE Palm Jumeirah complex, said the explosion happened very quickly and the place was immediately "overtaken" by smoke.

However, until now, the United Arab Emirates authorities have not issued any official announcement regarding the incident.

The incident comes at an extremely tense moment in the region. Today, a major escalation in the conflict between Israel, the United States and Iran was reported. Israel and the US have launched a series of military strikes on Iranian targets, while Tehran has responded with missiles and drones targeting bases housing US forces and Israeli targets.

Powerful explosions and casualties have been reported in Iran, including the tragic attack on a girls' school in Hormozgan province, where according to local authorities the number of casualties has reached dozens.

Today's escalation has increased fears of a wider regional conflict, while the incident in Dubai raises new questions about security in the Gulf countries.
