White House on its website: COVID-19 originated in a laboratory in China

The White House has announced on its official website support for the theory that Covid-19 originated in a laboratory. The page, reminiscent of a movie poster, features the large headline “Lab Leak.” Between the two words is the image of US President Donald Trump.
Under the headline: “The True Origin of Covid-19.” The site accuses the media, politicians, health authorities and American immunologist Anthony Fauci of spreading the theory that the virus originated naturally. The site also claims that there is a lot of evidence that the virus originated in a laboratory in Wuhan, China. After five years, the origin of the virus is still unclear.
More than five years after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is still not clear whether the virus jumped from animals to humans or whether it originated in a Chinese laboratory.
The website also criticizes some of the main rules of the pandemic period, such as social distancing, wearing masks, and total lockdowns, which it calls wrong.
One of the first moves of new CIA director John Ratcliffe was to change his agency's view of the origins of COVID-19 in January to the view that it was likely a laboratory accident. The CIA estimates that the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic is more likely to be research-related than natural in origin.
In early December, a subcommittee of the US House of Representatives had already submitted a report supporting the laboratory theory.
