Strong storm hits Greece, 1,000 lightning strikes in less than 2 hours

A strong storm has hit the Attica basin in Greece, causing panic and alarm among residents of the area.

According to Greek media during the storm, more than 1,000 lightning strikes and flashes were recorded in a period of less than two hours.

As a result of the storm, drivers are reported to have been stuck in traffic in the northern direction of Kifisos, from Lenorman to Nea Filadelfia, on Schistou Boulevard, and also in the southern direction of Kifisias Boulevard, from the "Ring" to the Chalandri area.

According to official information from the Attica Traffic Police, the most sensitive problems from the storm were observed in the greater Piraeus area, especially on Tzavella and Deligianni streets.
