Trump: Iran is negotiating to the limit, but we are not satisfied with the terms! There may be no deal if the Gulf states…

US President Donald Trump stated that the US is still not satisfied with the terms of the agreement being negotiated with Iran, although according to him Tehran is determined to reach an agreement to end the conflict.

"So far they haven't gotten where they need to go and we're not satisfied ," Trump said during a cabinet meeting, warning that Washington is ready to resume attacks if a deal is not reached.

His comments came after Iranian state television published details of a draft agreement that claimed the US would lift a naval blockade of Iranian ports and withdraw US forces from the region. In exchange, Iran would restore commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. But the White House dismissed the claims as “complete fabrications.”

The US president also said he is determined to reach a favorable agreement with Iran, adding that he is not interested in midterm elections, and dismissing concerns about the political cost of war in the country.

"I don't care about the midterm elections. Look what happened last night, this was a prelude to the midterm elections. People understand that," he said, alluding to his backed candidate's victory in the Texas Republican Senate runoff.

Trump also denied reports that easing sanctions on Iran or transferring Iranian enriched uranium to Russia and China was being considered.

"No, I wouldn't feel comfortable ," he said when asked about the possibility of Moscow or Beijing acquiring nuclear bomb-grade uranium.

The US president also stressed, among other things, that he may reject the deal with Iran until a host of Middle Eastern countries agree to join his Abraham Accords framework aimed at normalizing relations with Israel.

"That would be a really extraordinary sign and I think those countries owe us that. I'm not sure if we should do the deal if they don't sign it, you want to know the truth," he added.
