Russian Deputy Minister Reveals Putin Invited Trump to Moscow: Alaska Invitation Remains Open

Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended an open invitation to US President Donald Trump to visit Moscow, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in an interview with the Russian state news agency TASS.
According to Ryabkov, the invitation was extended to Trump during the meeting between the two leaders in Anchorage, Alaska, and remains in effect, provided there is progress in addressing the core issues that, in his opinion, lie at the root of the global crisis.
"Of course, in Anchorage, an invitation was extended to President Trump to visit the Russian Federation," Ryabkov stated, adding that "as with other forms of communication between the presidents of Russia and the US, our position remains unchanged: first the essence of the issues must be reached and then the venue for the next meeting determined."
"Russia cannot be afraid"
In the same interview, which is expected to be published in full on Monday by TASS, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that "Russia cannot be afraid", underlining that "the country's national security is 100% guaranteed".
"Ultimately, these are matters for the American government. I repeat, our security is 100% guaranteed. But if someone thinks they can intimidate us or force us to justify ourselves, neither of them will work. Especially the second one, because there is no reason for this," Ryabkov declared, responding to a question about whether Moscow knew about the 'secret weapons' mentioned by the American president.
It is recalled that Donald Trump has previously stated that the United States possesses weapons systems unknown to the rest of the world, also mentioning Washington's use of sonic weapons in Venezuela.
Ryabkov concluded by emphasizing that the Russian side "has a complete documentation base that defines the rules for the use of nuclear weapons and other advanced technology weapons in various situations."
