The race for Tirana, the majority and the opposition, two sides of the same coin

The ruling majority and the opposition DP are in a deep crisis of legitimacy and morality.
At a time when citizens are demanding transparency, accountability and justice, the government is dominated by corruption and links to organized crime, while the opposition, the DP as the main force, is on its knees without an ideological axis and without a real offer.
SPAK investigations and international reports (DASH) have proven a government steeped in corruption, abuse of power, money laundering, and connections to structured criminal groups.
"Recurring problems: corruption in the public sector, a stalled judiciary, unfair competition, informal economy, money laundering, lack of property security, and poor contract enforcement" (DASH 2025), this is the panorama of a government that no longer has either the morals or the credibility to govern.
But facing this government, we have a DP in the most dire situation it has ever been in in these 35 years.
The lack of a candidate for Tirana from the Democratic Party is evidence of the inability to offer a strong political alternative that can defeat the majority.
Democrats feel abandoned when they see their force not only fail to overthrow Rama on May 11, but also in a race for Tirana, it is apathetic, uninspiring, and lacks the courage to hold a real political confrontation.
Although it counts the protests for Erion Veliaj's dismissal every day, the DP does not have a political figure taking over the race but "drags" and delays the days with worthless commissions, while the SP has started the campaign.
And moreover, from the other camp, there is a candidate facing her, one of the weakest political figures of the SP, but who is supported by Rama and the party.
The figure of Ogerta Manastirliu as a candidate for the Municipality of Tirana is an emblem of this system, of how failure is promoted, and a clear example of the model of political clientelism.
Under investigation by SPAK, Manasterliu testified before the justice authorities that as the hospital director, she was ordered by her superiors (Sterilization).
As Minister of Health, she left oncology patients at the mercy of a deadly disease and without treatment, while the Laboratories are also being investigated.
As Minister of Education and political leader for Tirana, she left 70 thousand residents of Astir without schools, kindergartens and nurseries.
What does such a candidate ask of the residents of Tirana today?!
And this type of candidate who should be pursuing problems with justice, the DP is unable to challenge, a test it is unable to pass!
The political-moral crisis that has engulfed the majority and the DP is the reason for the obstruction of the change of power and the democratic development of the country.
Their bargains on the backs of Albanians are open, the criminal amnesty, the electoral code, the passage of the governing program without debate, the passage
of senior political officials from the DP and SMI into Rama's government,
testify to the decay of a class in agony.
Their personal problems are great, SPAK and BKH are not stopping at bringing powerful politicians to justice, so obstructing justice and stopping the democratic development of the country are the "cuban" that this corrupt political class is trying to do.
But I won't be able to make it!
Albania today has a corrupt government and a powerless opposition. A political system that has lost the trust of its citizens and fails to produce either vision, justice, or hope.
Who will dare to break this status quo?
Justice on the one hand and citizens, when they see hope, will overthrow this malignant politics that is holding us hostage.
