Road accidents, number of victims increases during February

Despite the fact that the number of accidents has decreased in the first two months of this year, unfortunately there have been too many casualties.
In February 2025 alone, at least 19 people lost their lives, of which 16 were men and 3 were women.
According to INSTAT data, male victims have increased from 6 recorded in February 2024 to 16 for the same period this year.
As for women, there was only 1 more victim compared to a year ago.
On the other hand, in addition to the decrease in the number of accidents, there has also been a decrease in the number of injured people, with only 103 during the past month.
Data shows that drivers aged 25-34 and 40 continue to be the main causes of accidents, for which about 88.1% of cases were caused by them.
The highest number of accidents occurred on Thursday and fewer during the weekend.
In February, an increase in the number of accidents was observed in Shkodra and Korca, while the capital and coastal cities such as Durrës and Vlora seem to have found a calmer situation regarding incidents.
