Their time is up.
To understand what is happening in Albania, one must look at the structure of society that we have built over the past 36 years. During these decades, Albanian society has changed in all structural parameters; economic, social and cultural, but it has not changed in the political dimension. Therefore, protest is the most natural explosion that occurs in cases when a society creates this kind of imbalance between the socio-cultural reality and the political reality.
The political history of Albania is generally an ugly one, with very little social and cultural coherence, and a total lack of economic coherence. In 1990, society attempted to establish some kind of political coherence, which had a positive impact on society. But this kind of coherence was quickly abandoned in the year 1997, which led to a destabilization of the state with a clear element of civil conflict. The events in Kosovo had a positive impact on preserving the socio-cultural cohesion of society, which continued into the first decade of the new century.
In the 2010s, Albania entered the third decade of democratic order, while the 90s generation had entered the last decade of active social, economic and cultural life. But in the meantime, the 2000s generation was entering a completely new reality of public communication: the reality of social networks and the global internet.
But in the meantime, the political structure in Albania continues to be frozen in 1990. The Socialist Party remains frozen under Edi Rama, while the Democratic Party remains frozen under Sali Berisha. Both continue to defend their political interests - which are in fact 100% their economic and criminal interests.
Albania lives in a global physical, economic, political, social and cultural reality. Politically, Albanians know politics very well in France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, England, the USA, etc. The generation of the 2000s is at the peak of creative energies, while the political, economic and social reality in which they live offers Sali Berisha and Edi Rama as an alternative. No one knows what can connect the interests of a 20-year-old with the interests of Edi Rama and Sali Berisha. Because Edi's interests are the interests of Belinda Balluku, Ilir Beqja, Arben Ahmetaj, Ilir Shtufi, Erion Veliaj and a long list of thieves.
No one knows what the interests of a 20-year-old girl can connect with the interests of Sali Berisha, Tritan Shehu and Edi Paloka. No one knows where the meeting points can be found between the interests of a thief who tries to hide the traces of Edi Rama's crime with the interests of those who are looking for opportunities for their future and their lives.
There is another dimension - which was revealed like a slap in the face when journalist Sidorela Gjoni put a slap in the face to Edi Rama: his mockery and jokes have become unbearable. And a 20-year-old cannot stand a 60-year-old who acts like a palaço. Everyone has their time - and their time is over.
