Woman sues ex-husband for 'age discrimination' after he left her for a younger man

Breaking up a marriage is always difficult for both parties, but in a strange case, a court in England has accepted a lawsuit from an ex-wife who accuses her husband of 'age discrimination' after she accused him of dating a younger woman.
Tim Belson, 72, and his ex-wife Eleanor, 61, are in the middle of a bitter legal battle after their relationship soured.
The couple separated two years ago, and Eleanor has filed several lawsuits against her husband calling him "age discriminator" for the end of their relationship.
She accused him of having a younger girlfriend and fired her from her job at his jewelry store.
In the unfair dismissal claim, Eleanor's complaint was upheld and she was awarded around £9,000 in damages.
But the judging panel condemned both members of the couple for their immature mindset and vindictive behavior towards each other.
Civil Judge Holly Stout dismissed the 'age discrimination' claim against Mr Belson after she said his new girlfriend was in fact 'older' than Eleanor.
Stout said: "Between the summer of 2021 and the termination of Ms. Belson's employment, the relationship with her husband had deteriorated significantly, both maritally, personally and at work."
"It seems that both parties worked for its destruction, who lied about the behavior of the other to the police or about income issues."
"They still haven't managed to find an amicable solution to the divorce of 2.5 years ago."
Among Eleanor's rejected charges were 'marital status discrimination' and defamation of personality.
