Why do you wake up in the morning tired?

It may have often happened to us that after waking up in the morning we were again very tired and without energy at all. But why does this happen? Listed below are some of the reasons.

There are many conditions that cause fatigue, but they don't necessarily make people feel like they're about to fall asleep. These may include chronic pain conditions, metabolic or thyroid conditions, anemia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Additionally, experts say that healthy adults need seven to nine hours of sleep a night, so you may need more than eight hours of sleep to feel energized.

Having anxiety or depression can negatively affect how long it takes you to fall asleep, as well as how many times you wake up during the night. And sometimes medications used to treat depression or anxiety can have side effects like insomnia.

Sometimes our schedules differ on weekdays vs. weekends. Hours can also fluctuate for people with shift work.

Poor sleep environment or routine

Having good sleep hygiene includes keeping your bedroom dark, quiet and cool at night. Avoid consuming caffeinated beverages less than six hours before bedtime; and limit consumption of alcohol and heavy or spicy foods at least two hours before bedtime. Alcohol can prevent the deeper stages of sleep, and such foods can cause digestive problems that interfere with restorative sleep.

Sleep disorders are another factor that can dramatically decrease sleep quality. Someone with sleep apnea may wake up 50, 100 or more times throughout the night. Other sleep disorders that can affect daily energy levels include narcolepsy and restless legs syndrome.
