Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, arrived in Tirana today, as part of her visit to the Western Balkans.
During the joint press conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama, she stated that the EU supports Albania's path towards the EU.
"What I want to say is that there is no short circuit to achieve EU membership with reforms. You have our full support regarding the opening of other group chapters. Albania's future is in the EU. I have also seen with pleasure the signing of 90 million euros with the European Bank for the reconstruction of the railway that will connect the port of Durres with Rrogozhina, part of the eighth corridor ," she said.
" EU reforms have several phases regarding the rule of law. First is the adoption of reforms and the second phase is their implementation. This is very important for citizens to see that everyone is taking the fight against corruption very seriously ," she said regarding the justice system.
