Relations with Tirana/ Albin Kurti: The intentions are good, but Rama and I have

Kosovo's acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that his relations with his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama are good, but added that they do not agree on all issues, especially regarding the official stance towards Belgrade.

Asked by the media in Kosovo whether he feels responsible for the relationship between the two Albanian countries, Kurti said he does not believe he was wrong, considering that his intentions were good.

He then focused on joint meetings between governments, recalling that the one scheduled for 2023 was canceled by official Tirana.

"In the two government meetings we had, 58 agreements were signed. Some have been implemented, some are in the process of being implemented. Some faster and some slower. We also discussed with Minister Ferit Hoxha how to move faster. There should have been joint government meetings.

We have held two meetings between the two Assemblies, but I did not cancel the meeting between the two governments. It was canceled by official Tirana in the summer of 2023. The sooner we start the meetings, the better. But they are not the main meetings, but the meetings between the ministers.

Responsibility? I don't believe I was wrong, while I have good intentions. I cannot be responsible. We have good relations with Rama, but this does not mean that we agree on all issues, especially for example with our stance towards official Belgrade. We have a different sensibility, that's where we differ ," Kurti said.
