The "Albania Becomes" movement has announced the holding of a second massive protest on January 4, in the wake of the marathon protest that has now entered its 18th day.
In a public statement, the leader of the movement, Adriatik Lapaj, emphasized that this protest represents a direct confrontation of citizens with what he described as "the most corrupt government in Europe," underlining that civic resistance is being developed on values and not on violence.
"We are on the 18th day of the protest in these cold, cold December days, turning this protest into a marathon protest of values in the face of the incompetence of the most corrupt government in Europe."
We are organized to have the second massive protest on January 4th, and I am convinced that it will be much bigger because we are serious about it.
"I want to tell the citizens that the strongest weapon we have is our sacrifice and our resistance because we are here to build a democratic republic and we can only build it on sacrifices, we cannot build it on fire but on contribution, on resistance, on confrontation," said Lapaj.
