Taulanda Jupi: Let's not leave children who shine differently in the

On World Autism Day, parliamentary candidate Taulanda Jupi emphasized the necessity of creating a more just and inclusive society for children on the autism spectrum.

" Autism is not a limitation, but a different way of perceiving, thinking, and living ," says Jupi, emphasizing that it is society's duty to adapt systems, not to demand that these children change.

She highlighted the challenges faced by parents and teachers, as well as the lack of consistent policies: “ Instead of mercy, these children need trust. Instead of exclusion, equal access .”

Jupi called for educational reforms and institutional support for families, describing this as an obligation for a fairer and more progressive Albania.

Let's not overshadow children who shine differently.

In an honest and developed society, there is no place for silence in the face of prejudice.

On World Autism Awareness Day, we're not just talking about a health or social issue. We're talking about a daily battle for dignity, for the right to be present, included, and respected.

Autism is not a limitation. It is a different way of perceiving, of thinking, of living. And for this reason, it is our responsibility as a society, not to try to change the children who are on the autism spectrum, but to change the system itself: education, the institutional approach, the discourse about autism.

I have seen firsthand the struggles of parents who struggle every day to provide the necessary therapy for their children. I have heard from dedicated teachers who feel unsupported in the face of the challenges of teaching children with special needs. And above all, I have met wonderful children, with talent, imagination and sensitivity, whom society still does not know how to properly support.

Instead of mercy, these children need trust. Instead of exclusion, for equal access. And above all, for policies that do not change with the change of governments, but that build strong foundations for the future.

This is a commitment that doesn't end here. This is a commitment that will translate into educational reforms, support for families, training for professionals, and a fundamental shift in how we understand and address differences.

In an Albania that aims to be just and progressive, there is no place for children who remain in the shadows.

Today, let's talk about autism not as a day on the calendar, but as a call to action. Let's listen, learn, and act with courage, foresight, and commitment.
