Yuri Kim meets Begajn: Congratulations to Albania for hosting the Summit, America supports every step

The American Ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, met today with the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj.

The ambassador emphasized the support of the USA for Albania's path towards the EU and expressed her enthusiasm for the further strengthening of relations. She congratulated Albania for the hospitality shown at yesterday's EU-Western Balkans Summit.

"Thank you President Bajram Begaj for the opportunity to express my gratitude for the hospitality of Albania at the EU-Western Balkans summit. It is the first time that this Summit is held outside Brussels. America strongly supports Albania's efforts to take the necessary steps, including judicial reform, towards the EU path. We also reviewed the achievements in 2022, as NATO allies, members of the UN Security Council, and best friends, that brought US-Albania relations to historic highs. We look forward to doing even more together in 2023 to strengthen US-Albanian cooperation in democracy, defense and business.
