ATP congratulated the Independence of Albania with the "Autochthonous" flag, the Serbs revolted: Shameful

ATP has congratulated the Independence Day of Albania on social networks, where the selected photo was the flag raised by drone on October 14, 2014 at the stadium of Partizan in Belgrade, precisely during the Serbia-Albania match. The official profile of the World Tennis Federation has posted on its page the flag of Greater Albania hanging from a drone that flew over Belgrade during the qualifying match between Serbia and Albania.

After the drone flew onto the pitch, there were huge commotions and clashes between players and fans. The match was recorded with the victory of Albania 3-0. Serbs are very angry with this act of ATP. It is not clear whether this is a hacking attack or a mistake by an uninformed administrator.

"Happy Independence Day, Albania! On this great day, our hearts are full of pride as we celebrate the enduring spirit of freedom and unity. Let the indigenous flag fly proudly, a symbol of our rich history and show the strength of our nation. On this holy day, let our collective spirit rise because Albania was, is and will forever be the heart of our common identity", the announcement states.

The Serbian media also reacted to this announcement, which thinks that it was not a coincidence.

"There is no doubt that the profile of the tennis organization was chosen deliberately, given that the Serbian Novak Djokovic is the best in history, so the Albanians, at least for a short time, tried to at least in some way attract attention of the tennis public to themselves. When they don't have their players, they decided to make this shameful attempt", writes Blic.

According to them, Greater Albania includes, in addition to Albania and Kosovo, also parts of Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Greece, the area inhabited by Albanians.
