Chelsea formalizes the new coach, Maresca signs a 5-year contract

Now everything is official, Enzo Maresca is the new coach of Chelsea.
The Italian has decided to end his adventure with Leicester, whom he brought back to the Premier League, to start a new one with the "Blues of London".
The official announcement came from the London club itself, who wrote next to Maresca's photo: "Welcome to Chelsea, Enzo Maresca!". He has signed a 5-year contract with an option to renew until June 2030.
The 44-year-old technician has a long career in the coaching profession. Previously, Maresca was an assistant coach at Ascoli in Italy, then at Sevilla, and West Ham. In 2020, Maresca made his debut as a head coach by taking charge of Manchester City U23.
1 year later, the Italian returned to his homeland where he took over the job of coach at Parma, but the adventure lasted only 7 months. Maresca returned to the Premier League where he took on the role of assistant to Pep Guardiola at City. As the last season, the 44-year-old coach ended with Leicester, the club he brought back to the elite of English football.
Now, for the Italian coach, a very difficult new adventure begins, as he has to "rebuild" from the ground up a Chelsea left in half by the departed Mauricio Pochettino.
