Kallas criticizes Vučić's participation in the Moscow parade: Member

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, has criticized the participation of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in the military parade in Moscow, alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin. In a statement, Kallas said that member states have many questions about Vučić, namely about who is truly a friend of Serbia.

"On the positive side, the Serbian army is not participating in the parade. That would have been really another level. But it certainly remains on the conscience of these people who go hand in hand with Putin, who is waging a war now the biggest war in Europe since World War II.

"Of course, member states are not taking this lightly. When we discuss the next steps, then member states have a lot of questions. Who is your friend that you are really dealing with?" Kallas said from Warsaw on Thursday.

The EU has called on leaders of countries seeking EU membership, including Vucic, to avoid attending the World War II victory parade in Moscow, due to Russia's unprovoked aggression in Ukraine. However, Serbia's authoritarian president has chosen to ignore the EU's warnings.
