While athletes will join the team in the following days, as Luiza Gega and Franko Burraj continue training and will start on July 29.
BURRAJ WITHOUT A COACH - But in such events, as always, the "Albanian wonders" could not be missing. As you know, the Olympic Games are the dream of every athlete and coach. A dream that has already come true for the athlete Franko Burraj, who will compete in the 100 meters race, as the Shkodran record holder will participate in his first career Olympics. But the 25-year-old will be in "Paris 2024" without his coach Bruno Rrotani, since the latter was denied participation in the Olympics due to a lack of quotas.
It seems really absurd how there can be a lack of quotas for a coach... But this situation is not new for Albania in the Olympic Games, as it is also known in the last edition in "Tokyo 2020", the weightlifter Briken Calja competed without his coach Gerald Toska . The latter was replaced at that time by the president of the FA, Elez Gjoza, who removed the official's jacket to wear the coach's overalls during the barbell competition.
CEREMONY - The "Paris 2024" Olympic Games will officially open tomorrow with the opening ceremony in the French capital. A grand ceremony, which will be held in the evening (19:30-23:00) and open as never before, along the Seine River in Paris.
In the absence of Luiza Gegë, who will arrive a few days later in France, Albania's flag bearers during the opening ceremony are expected to be wrestlers Zelimkhan Abakarov and swimmer Kaltra Meça.
