Nighttime accident in Gjirokastra, car hits pedestrian

A road accident occurred on Saturday evening on the "Gjirokastër-Kakavije" road axis, at the place called "Glina Crossroads".

Police say that a 29-year-old man, driving a Volkswagen, hit a pedestrian, aged around 60, who is in serious condition at the Gjirokastra Regional Hospital.

The investigation team has launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the accident, while the driver of the vehicle has been escorted to the police station for further action.

At around 22:30, on the "Gjirokastër-Kakavije" road axis, at the place called "Glina Intersection", citizen TB, 29 years old, driving a "Volkswagen" type vehicle, has hit citizen SA, around 60 years old (pedestrian), who is in the Gjirokastër Regional Hospital, in serious condition.

The driver of the vehicle was escorted to the police station for further action.

The investigation team is at the scene and is carrying out further actions regarding the accident.
