"Deserved artist"/ Well-known cinematographer Kristaq Dhamo passes away

The well-known Albanian filmmaker Kristaq Dhamo passed away today at the age of 89. Dhamo has perpetuated his existence in his valuable contribution to the Albanian cinematography, where the evaluations of his figure have not been missing.

Kristaq Dhamo was born on April 20, 1933 in Fier, Albania. Graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinematography in Budapest, Hungary. He starts working at Film Studio-"New Albania", where he made the film "Tana" in 1958. For many years he has been artistic director at Film Studio. Dhamo has provided valuable assistance in the preparation of young cinematography students by organizing several professional courses. In 1979 he was awarded the title "Deserved Artist" and in 1987 he was honored with the title "People's Artist". At the 11th Albanian Film Festival 2000, he was honored with the career award.
