Four hand grenades and two automatic weapons were found this morning in the Soda forest area, near the hydroelectric canal in the city of Vlora.
According to preliminary data, the weapons and ammunition are suspected to have been buried or dumped in this area for many years, perhaps since the 1997 riots.
Immediately after the discovery, the police surrounded the security perimeter and took measures to isolate the area. Initial verifications show that the weapons and grenades were wrapped and do not pose an immediate threat.
The relevant specialists are expected at the scene, who will remove and dispose of them, while the police continue their investigations to clarify the circumstances of this case.
