SPAK's crackdown on the Çopja group, GJKKO leaves 7 arrested in

The GJKKO has confirmed the security measures for those arrested as part of the SPAK operation a few days ago, where the Çopjave criminal organization was hit, where 17 tons of cocaine were seized.

7 of the arrested remain in prison, one is under house arrest. The other two are under mandatory reporting.

Court announcement: 

The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime on 09.08.2025 submitted to the Court the request with the object: Questioning and verification of the conditions and needs of security, in compliance with Article 248 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, for the persons under investigation Ervis Çela, Albin Çela alias Defrim Çela, Riza Çela, Petrit Lakatos alias Petrit Sulejmani, Renato Musaku, Gert Çerma, Marenglen Kamami, Elidon Çela, Kujtim Gjyla and Ditjon Pepa. 2. At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with a panel composed of Judge Erjon Bani, with decision No. 84, dated 10.08.2025 decided:

1. Continuation of the security measure "Arrest in prison" provided for by Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, imposed on the person under investigation Ervis Ibrahim Çela by decision No. 82, dated 06.08.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.

2. Continuation of the security measure "Arrest in prison" provided for by Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure imposed on the person under investigation Albin Çela alias Defrim Çela by decision No. 82, dated 06.08.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.

3. Replacing the personal security measure "Prison arrest" imposed on the person under investigation Riza Çela by decision No. 82, dated 06.08.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with the personal security measure "House arrest" provided for by article 237 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

4. The person under investigation, Riza Çela, is ordered not to leave his residence at the following address: Building No. **, Entrance No. *, Administrative Unit *****, village ****, ****.

5. Obliging the person under investigation, Riza Çela, not to communicate with other people except those who live with him.

6. The implementation and supervision of this measure shall be carried out by judicial police officers covering the residence of the person under investigation, Riza Çela.

7. Continuation of the security measure "Arrest in prison" provided for by Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure imposed on the person under investigation Petrit Lakatos alias Petrit Sulejmani by decision No. 82, dated 06.08.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.

8. Continuation of the security measure “Arrest in prison” provided for by article 238 of the Criminal Procedure Code assigned to the person under investigation Renato Musaku by decision No. 82, dated 06.08.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.

9. Continuation of the security measure "Arrest in prison" provided for by Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, imposed on the person under investigation Gert Çerma by decision No. 82, dated 06.08.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.

10. Continuation of the security measure "Arrest in prison" provided for by Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, imposed on the person under investigation Marenglen Kamami by decision No. 82, dated 06.08.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.

11. Continuation of the security measure "Arrest in prison" provided for by Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, imposed on the person under investigation Elidon Çela by decision No. 82, dated 06.08.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.

12. Continuation of the security measure "Obligation to report to the judicial police" provided for by Article 234 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, imposed on the person under investigation Kujtim Gjyla by decision No. 82, dated 06.08.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.

13. Continuation of the security measure "Obligation to report to the judicial police" provided for by Article 234 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, imposed on the person under investigation Ditjon Pepa by decision No. 82, dated 06.08.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.

14. The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, in cooperation with the judicial police, is charged with execution.

15. An appeal may be filed against this decision at the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime within 5 (five) days, starting from the day after receiving notice of this decision.
